THE RESTORATION SITE
at the service of art
SAN GOTTARDO
The San Gottardo intervention accompanied us from September 2014 to May 2015. It involved all the internal surfaces: the walls, vaults, systems, floors, stuccoes, painted parts and the funeral sarcophagus dedicated to Azzone Visconti. One of the most important operations was the surface removal of the plaster layers and the pictorial integration. The walls had eight layers of repainting. Eliminated one by one, we managed to restore the fake marbles and wall frescoes to their original splendor.
MILAN CATHEDRAL
The intervention inside the Milan Cathedral was very complicated and involved the refurbishment of several works: Christ at the Column, the Gothic Portal, the North Transept and the Counter-façade. The first cleaning and chromatic balancing intervention concerned the Counter-façade, the construction site was held in 2015. After three years of work, the restoration work on the majestic portal of the sacristy, the Gothic Portal, was also completed in january 2022. The restorations have brought to light the traces of coloring and gilding of the marble surfaces, as well as the portal, originally, it must have appeared as a sort of gigantic work of goldsmiths.
SANTA MARIA AL PARADISO
The intervention inside the church of Santa Maria al Paradiso involved 1200 square meters of surfaces to be restored in 12 months of work. The most important operation was the removal of four repainting layers and to follow an accurate cleaning, grouting and chromatic balancing process.
