INTERIOR
SAN GOTTARDO
Currently the neoclassical style prevails over the original Gothic structure, the construction has a single rectangular hall, divided into three spans by buttresses crowned by cuspidated pediments and pinnacles. The deep semi-octagonal apse is among the first in Lombardy to overcome the traditional quadrangular plan.

Before and after
PROCESSING
Under the dark and heavy colors applied in recent years, pink and gray marmorinos have been found that bind the walls to the vault of the classroom enriched with neoclassical decorations in the same tones.
The dome of the apse, on the other hand, has unveiled some marmorino in paste with elegant yellow and dusty blue tones, enriched by ribs with motifs of oak leaves and acorns. The restoration work involved all the internal surfaces of the church: apse, lower loggia, upper loggia, presbytery, hall, side chapels.
PROCESSING
On the balcony two clypei with figures of saints and cherubs were rediscovered and the descialbo allowed the recovery of a decorative band in shades of green with phytomorphic motifs.
We can summarize the operations carried out in:
Dry descialbo and with a heat gun for the elimination of paints overlaid with marmorino
Descialbo and recovery of the balcony decorations
Compressed cleaning with neutral detergent
Cleaning with steam generator
Solvent cleaning of gilding
removal of cements or unsuitable materials applied in previous restoration works.
consolidation of the walls and frescoes by means of injections or pins.
Integration of marmorini
Wall chromatic balancing operations
Pictorial retouching of the decorative bands and integration of the ornaments of the frieze
Surface protection with microcrystalline waxes
